| MagniFire Websystems, Inc., a leading
provider of Web security gateways, announced the release of TrafficShield Version,
building on the company's successful product line.
Based on feedback from customers and independent industry
testing, the latest version of TrafficShield incorporates many new
"out-of-the-box" features that allow it to protect Web applications immediately
upon installation while its automated security policy generator develops a more
comprehensive security.
Comprehensive Security
"Most enterprises know their Web applications are
vulnerable," stated Eitan Bauch, CEO of MagniFire. "They need solid protection
from known attacks today and also need the ability to develop highly secure policies that
are customized to their individual applications." Bauch emphasized that, "This
release broadens TrafficShield's plug-and-play protection capabilities and have made it
even simpler to set up and manage by improving its GUI and administrative
functionality."
Topping the list of the new features are pre-configured
Attack Filters, which can be activated to block hacker activity within minutes of
installing TrafficShield. These Attack Filters detect, alert, and block common pre-defined
attacks such as SQL injection and cross-site scripting. More advanced filters can be
activated based on an application-specific policy. "It's the best of positive and
negative security logic," says Bauch.
Another new feature is the Content Scrubber, which allows
companies to ensure that sensitive customer information is not harvested from their
systems using the Web. "The Content Scrubber is an extremely powerful weapon against
fraud and identity theft," noted Bauch. "For instance, it can prevent social
security numbers, credit card numbers or any other pre-defined information from ever
appearing on a page sent to a user."
In addition to pre-defined protection configurations that
blocks most commonly used sequences, TrafficShield includes a simple GUI interface to add
additional rules to filter out any term.
Finally, TrafficShield boasts improved management features,
including role-based administration. This is ideal for hosted environments and large-scale
enterprise deployments, where different user groups have different roles in the security
process, and different security privileges. Administrators will also appreciate the
significant improvements to TrafficShield's comprehensive reports, including a top-level
"Attack Summary."
